The ICOC Great Thanksgiving Event

“Let us come before His presence with Thanksgiving.” Psalm 95:2

We as a community often congregate in times of crisis. It is time to change that narrative and congregate to celebrate the goodness of our Lord!

To this regard, the International Community Outreach Church (ICOC) of Gwinnett invites you all as a community of Christian faith to join us and give thanks to the Lord.  God delights in hearing our gratitude for His blessings. We want to come together in unity and thank God for this far He has brought us in the land of America. He is our Ebenezer! As we raise our voices of praise to the Lord, we as a church would like to use this gathering to build an Altar of Worship for all families as we trust God for planting us to do His work in Grayson GA. We appreciate the entire community for supporting us through the years.

The Thanksgiving event will be held in our Church located at 180 Grayson Industrial Parkway Grayson GA 30017, On Sunday, November 24th 2019 from 3 p.m-6 p.m. The service will be hosted by the ICOC church family led by the Senior Pastor. Rev. Macere John, with. Rev. Dr. William Theuri, Pastor Philip Warutere, Ms. Lucy Gitundu and all our Church families.

This is a gathering to honor God, celebrate life and give thanks for all our accomplishments. Therefore come with a grateful heart and voices of praise as you bring your Thanksgiving gift to build God’s Alter.

We hope other ministers of God will adopt this practice once a year as we continue this celebration from church to church in the coming years.

Praise and worship will be led by the ICOC Team under Jeniffer Kabiu in conjunction with Lady Z and Brother Sifa. Other choirs in attendance include:

Upendo SDA, Elim Church, Congolese singer band Tina K. Base and Violin Concerto presented by Hope Maryann.

Also joining us are for this Holy convocation are:

  • Bishops, Pastors and other ministers of the Gospel from metro Atlanta
  • Atlanta Gospel Artists
  • Kenyan Diaspora Businesses
  • Kenyan Non Profit Organizations

We welcome the greater ATL Area community to come and celebrate with us. We are so exited that you will be joining us.

(1Chronicles 16:29)  “Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him; Worship the LORD in holy array.”

HOW THE KENYAN CHURCH BEGAN

Founding Pastor, Rev. Isaac Gitundu

The Late Rev. Isaac K. Gitundu, the pioneer Pastor of International Community Outreach Church served 14 years of full time ministry. Before answering to the call to be in full-time ministry, and before ordination, Rev. Gitundu was in the Construction Business in Kenya, where he served as the Managing director.

Rev. Gitundu was married to Lucy Gitundu the former proprietor of Harvest Café located in Ngong Town. They have five children, Sam, Leah (both in CA) Njoki, Maryanne and Dan. Rev. Gitundu was a scholar and loved education. He held a Certificate in Counseling, a Bachelor of Arts (BA), a Master of Divinity (DMin) and a Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE). Prior to his passing away, he was pursuing his doctoral program at Birmingham Theological Seminary, AL.

To maintain his academic enthusiasm, Rev Gitundu taught as a substitute teacher at Gwinnett County Public schools. He loved impacting peoples’ lives both in teaching and his pastoral duties.

I am really thankful that all of ICOC members have made the love of Jesus the center of their lives. Let that love of Christ be demonstrated even more as we all seek to love one another, the only last commandment our Lord gave to His disciples. Please come and worship with us and experience our Kenyan African hospitality. We invite all to come and worship with us, and see the hand of God at work. Blessings,

Current Senior Pastor Of International Community Outreach Church

SENIOR PASTOR JOHN MACERE

After the death of Pastor Isaac Gitundu on May, 2011 Pastor John Macere was invited to fill the pulpit and he accepted the call.  Pastor John Macere was born and raised in the central part of Kenya where he attended both elementary and high school. Pastor Macere’s call to serve the Lord began at an early age.

While still in elementary school he served the church as an acolyte/alter boy. He gave his life to Christ in his early teenage years. While in high school he was elected as a Christian Union chairman due to his commitment in the things of God.

In his late teens before completing high school, he received a call to preach and teach the word of God in one of the nearby churches that had a capacity of 300 members, a duty that he used to do voluntarily every weekend.

Upon completing his high school, he joined African Theological Seminary ATS formerly ICM in Western part of Kenya, where he received a Bachelors of Theology and Bible Studies. While he was pursuing his theological training, he used to minister in different churches which were within his jurisdiction causing tremendous growth.  He also served in different part of Kenya up to the year 2009.

In September 2009, he moved to USA where he enrolled at Erskine College Seminary for a graduate program. He graduated with a Masters of Divinity after three years. As a young energetic minister, Pastor Macere has of over ten years in the ministry. He is well equipped with what it takes to move the Church to the higher level that God needs.
