Since Independence Kenya have had 11 vice Presidents and in all except one, have been close to their President just as David Livingstone servant Chuma was….to the tooth.
Jaramogi was a thorn in the flesh, a radical that advocated communism and his leadership style were totally different from Ruto style of politics as the later is the wise mouse that bites while blowing wind so that its bites are not felt.
Ruto has not confronted Uhuru directly and is in a way wittily implying they are together but he seem to be doing things without briefing the head of state who later accuse him of jumping here and there.
Ruto has been vigorously campaigning for 2022 disregarding his senior advice to shelf politics and it is now evident that the original jubilee is splitting into two and soon there might be another political party in the formation.
What do all the previous President who have served Kenya have in common?
All the past Vice Presidents never had any say and were only used as errand boys to represent Presidents during functions locally and abroad.
Ruto is different for he has been performing his duties without necessarily consulting President Uhuru and he seem to have won the hearts of many key politicians in Rift Valley and Central Province. He now only need to get one more major community like Luhyas and he is all set to clinch the Presidency come 2022 elections.
It is not yet known who will be the President’s choice and in case he choose any other person, then Raila will support that person and we might not have a clear winner in 2022 as no candidate will get the 50 plus one percent vote needed to win.
If Uhuru support Ruto which is most likely, then Ruto will have a field day as there is no other person that will get the support he is currently enjoying.
LIST OF VISE PRESIDENTS THAT HAVE SERVED SINCE INDEPENDENCE
Jaramogi Oginga Oginga – Father of Raila Amollo Odinga (Current Opposition Leader)
Here is a list of all subsequent Vice Presidents:
2. Joseph Murumbi
3. Daniel Torotich Arap Moi
4. Emilio Mwai Kibaki
5. Josphat Karanja
6. Prof. George Saitoti
7. Musalia Mudavadi
8. Kijana Wamalwa
9. Moody Awori
10. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka
11. William Samoei Ruto – Current.
Of the above non except Moi succeeded a sitting President and if Ruto takes over he will do so through ballot unlike Moi who was given the seat on a silver platter.
Is this the man that will carry the day in 2022 and Kenyans to rejoice for the beginning of a bright future as they march in the streets after election announcement.?
If that happens, many will be anxious to see if this energetic man who was the errand boy of Jirongo during the YK 92 has anything to offer Kenyans.
He has been whispered as a benefactor of huge corruption scandals and if so, it will be interesting to get a thief to catch a thief.
Will he fight corruption or his administration will even come up with other MEGA corruption scandals?
Many are just making noise but will that noise change things in Kenya or is Kenya just bleeding a revolution that will one day erupt with a colossal force never felt before?
It would be for the best interest of Kenyans if we can have an individual that can come with a valid manifesto that will drastically reduce the big gap between the rich and the poor. We need a serious person to address the current high level of unemployment and how our youth can be involved in Nation building.
We need a serious person that will look into our National debt,… manage them… and see if further loans are necessary.
We need a serious person that will safeguard our natural resources and acquire those where Kenyans have been exploited for a long time.
We are educating young people without any future for after completing University, there are no jobs for them and thus making many out of desperation to start terrorizing innocent wananchi.
If we do not consider making our youth active in Nation building, we are only creating problems for they will one day say ENOUGH and the people to suffer are the ones living in the glass mansions.
Hence we need a serious person that has a clear agenda to solve the ever rising unemployment.
If William Ruto can do exactly that, so be it.
But as you anticipate to cast that ballot, remember.
2022 should be the year for Kenyans to decide or own their DESTINY but not a year to vote for individuals that will be on top not through popularity of the masses, BUT one that is induced by a few cohorts that will FEED and COERCE the electorate on the the last days to the ballot.
We fail because we do not try!
