Suspects in the death of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno were today released on bond and ordered to deposit their passports in court.
The Court of Appeal on Thursday released Michael Oyamo, a former personal assistant to Migori Governor Okoth Obado, together with county employee Caspal.
They were granted the bond approximately six months after they were denied bail by High Court Judge Jessie Lesiit.
They had appealed for bail and the three court of appeal Judges allowed it and released them on Sh2,000,000 bond each while citing that bail is a constitutional right which should only be taken away on firm grounds.
They disagreed with the superior courts’ decision to deny the two appellants to be out on bond, but they cautioned them not to interfere with the prosecution as investigations are still going on.
It appears now the case has hit a dead end for the two might complicate matters considering that they now have all the time to interfere with any tangible evidence and Shalon though dead might not get the justice she deserves.
